How Does Laser Eye Surgery Work Knowledge Base
Laser eye surgery. Have you had it? How much did it cost? Does it work? Hey. 5 years ago, i noticed i was having trouble reading the board in the classroom. Over the last few years, my eyes have got worse and worse, and while my glasses are fantastic, they were supposed to be temp and i now need to wear them all the time. Having them on and off is causing headaches, especially since i work at a comp desk, and i need to lean in really close to be able to even see the comp screen! For those that have had laser surgery (i have mild short sight, meaning reading is NO problem but street signs are near impossible) how much did it cost, is there only one session, how is your eye sight now...? ANY info, this will be a huge thing for me as i'll need to save for it and it better be worth it! :o)
Does the laser eye surgery work? I'm tired of taking my contacts out at night and putting them back in the morning. My glasses are not an option anymore. How is your vision after the procedure?

Is there any way to get my eyesight better? The only problem is that im on the computer a lot working art and stuff. I heard about laser eye surgery or something, is it effective? Is it costly? Does it always work? Just give me all the info about it that you got please, I would love to not have to wear my glasses. Oh also, I can't wear contacts, im afraid to touch my own eye (or anyone else's), so that's a for sure no.
How much does laser eye surgery cost and how risky is it? I've been thinking about getting my vision corrected with laser. Does anyone know about how much it would cost and how risky it would be? (I currently have no medical conditions with my eyes except that I can't see anything beyond a foot of me)
How does one perform laser eye surgery? I've found all the tools necessary around the house and eager to try it out. I'm unsure if the patient has to be sedated, as I have seen the surgery performed on television and they were wide awake. To get the eye prepared for surgery I will first tap on the cornea with a small piece of a gumdrop (peppermint) attached to a nail file. After this though, I am pretty much lost and would love some help!
Does laser eye surgery cause some side effects? Now days laser eye surgery is available for treatment of myopia. But most of the people don't opt for this. what is the reason behind this. Is is not safe. Does this cause some side effects.

how does having laser eye surgery compromise being able to still enjoy scuba diving (i.e. pressure to 250 ft?) From what I understand, laser surgery affects intraocular pressure in the eyeball; when scuba diving, submerging to pressures that exceed one ATM (at the surface) down to 250 ft - the point beyond which nitrogen narcosis is likely to be experienced, hence sport divers do not exceed this depth) what effect does/will having the eye surgery have upon vision, or compromising the eye in any way? Have never heard of any article in this regard, and when I sent ltrs of inquiry both on the internet and to ophthalmologists, never seem to get an answer, even to admit they simply do not know?
What is the cheapest laser eye surgery can cost, including service in other countries? I have astigmatism but I find contacts and glasses a frustrating money sink. My vision is about 20/160, but I never wear corrective lenses. I am looking forward to laser surgery, but as a college student I have less than $2000 to work with. I understand surgery can be up to $5000 in the USA, but I've heard of prices as low as $1400 abroad. Does anyone have any cheap success stories?
Can you have laser eye surgery a second time? I had laser eye surgery about 15 years ago and my eyes have been great. But in the last couple of years my left eye is getting weaker and it is progressively getting worse. I am thinking about approaching a laser clinic to have the procedure again. Has anyone out there had laser surgery on their eyes more than once? And is it risky? Cheers Adam
Is laser eye surgery worth the risk if it means I can fly? I want to be a pilot in the air force more than anything. I heard that they allow laser eye surgery in some situations. My vision is 20/60 correctable to 20/10. If I should be so lucky as to get the opportunity..is laser eye surgery worth it? I don't want to ruin my life with a mistake..but I don't want live my life with regret either...
will laser eye surgery work for a lazy eye? I had surgery for a squint as a child and now I'm almost forty it is getting noticeably worse. The more tired I am the worse it gets. I wonder, would laser surgery help? I also have astigmatism in that eye. The other eye is very good. I can't wear glasses because my left eye is near perfect and my right eye is really bad, there has to be a balance in the glasses, apparently. My near vision is excellent, if anything, it is my far vision which is not as good as it was. I was hoping that laser surgery would help me regain good vision in my right eye and I could patch the left eye to help the brain to recognise it - this would also help to build up the muscle which control the eye, does this sound hopeful at all?
Laser Eye Surgery - can I have it again if it didn`t work? Can anyone help pls. I had laser eye surgery about 10 years ago at Optimax in London. Back then there was only the original version called PRK and I had 1 eye done and it was amazing and I have perfect vision still in that eye. However, I had the 2nd eye done 3 months later and it didn`t work - I am still short sighted but it reduced it from -5.5 to -2 Apparently the poor vision is due to the haze not properly clearing? Does anyone know if with all the new technology I could have treatment on this eye to correct the vision despite having already had PRK on it Would be so grateful for any info/advice. Thks
