What is the best lasik eye surgery to get? When it comes to things like this I am pretty ignorant. I hear that there are two new methods out there for lasik eye surgery. Can I please get some feedback in regards to which procedure is the best and why! Thanks!
How long after the Lasik surgery cna you wear contacts? I had the Lasik surgery a few months ago and yeah, my vision is fine and I don't need to wear them for vision anymore but I want to wear color contacts once in a while. How long after the procedure can I wear them? I've heard from my doctor that if I wore contacts before the procedure I should be able to wear them again afterwards. My next appointment with him is in another 6 months so I'd like to know when I can wear them again from maybe people who've had experience with this.
what are ALL the risk of having the Lasik Surgery? Im planning to have lasik surgery next month. can anyone state all the risks after surgery or after several years have passed? by the way, im planning to get it done in Lasik Vision Institute in Houston.
How old should you be to get Lasik Eye surgery done? I am 20 years old. I've had glasses since i was about 16 or 17. I am seriously looking into Lasik eye surgery because i hate wearing my glasses ( i am near sighted) Recently it seems as though my eyes have gotten worse. My glasses work fine when i have them on, but i've been noticing that when i dont wear them, its getting harder & harder to see things i once could. Question is, how old are you supposed to be to get this done? If i get it done now, and say a year or two down the road it starts getting worse again do they do 'free touch ups?' Also, if anyone knows, how does sitting in front of a computer affect your eyes? I'm a writer, so i spend plenty of time in front of the screen. Thanks! Also, how do i find a Lasik eye specialist near me..and how do i know they are legit & safe?
How do I choose a place to get Lasik Surgery? In new york? I am planning on getting Lasik Surgery, pretty much ASAP and I can't find any sort of rating or review or certifications. Is there any way to tell if someone is better then someone else? Does anyone have any recomendations in new york?
Is it possible to be put to sleep during Lasik surgery? I've been wondering about Lasik, but I'm really squeemish with my eyes; I can't even put contacts in because it freaks me out so much. So here's my question: Can you be anesthetized during Lasik? I haven't even decided if I want to have it done, and if I do, it won't be done anytime soon. I just want to know if I should keep considering it. Any help would be appreciated!
Lasik.......? How old do you have to be to get the surgery?. I'm 16 years and how much could the surgery cost?
What do you think about lasik eye surgery? I want to get lasik surgery but I remember about 9 years ago when I was about 18 and I wanted to get the procedure done, someone I worked with told me that it was dangerous. She told me before lasik there was a different type of eye surgery. It produced the same result as the lasik but 20 years later there vision was worse than before and they were practically blind. That scared me. Is this true? Is lasik surgery safe?
How much should I expect to pay for Lasik surgery? I have worn contacts since the 5th grade and they are starting to dry out my eyes. I would like to get the Lasik surgery, but I want to make sure it is an option I can afford. I'm sure there is financing available. For the record, this is in Houston, Texas. I am not interested in going elsewhere for the surgery. Also, I need the surgery because I have astigmatism, and I'm nearsighted. I'm 23 years old. I know, the 5th grade comment made me sound really young.
How likely are you to need a "touch-up" procedure after a LASIK surgery? Assuming after a healing period following surgery that you are in the area of 20/20, in good health, and previously suffered from mild to moderate near-sightness only? How often are touch-up's needed? Despite the relative newness of true Lasik technology, am I safe to assume 20+ years down the road most will not need it? Is paying the extra 1000 dollars for the lifetime touch-up plan a waste of money if all goes reasonably well the first surgery? (The company is Lasik Plus in case you are curious) Thanks.
What is the down time for lasik surgery? Does everybody know the down time for lasik surgery? Alot of people say they have their eyes perfectly good after 24hrs but my friend had it and it has been 5 days and she is still seeing blurry. She cant see far away and cant see closebye either. Does anybody know?
What is the difference between Lasik and PRK? I was informed all about Lasik but once it came down to it the doctor said I could only have PRK laser surgery and not Lasik. I don't know much about PRK.. I mean I know it takes longer to heal and I basically know the procedure.. but I wasn't informed of the side affects it may have and I can't seem to find the information I need online. Has anyone had this surgery? WHta were your results and did it hurt? I need as much information as possible please before I make a decision. I will be calling the doctor tomorrow, but I would rather hear about it from people who have actually had it done. Thanks in advance.
How long do you have to wait before getting water into your eyes after LASIK? I had LASIK performed on 26th Feb '08, and was told not to get water into my eyes (eg. in the shower etc) for the first couple of months afterwards, as this increases chances of infection. But now it's April is it safe to do so - still being careful not to get soap or anything harsh in my eyes though. Thanks.
Who has had lasik before and what are the results? Are there any side effects you have? If so, how bad is it? *important Question* how long has it been since your LASIK? How long did it take for your vision to restore to normal? Did your vision really go to 20/15 as I have read in my researches? Do it correct astigmatism? Does your eyes feel normal, like no dryness or itching or what so ever pain after the surgery? IF you have halos or double vision, how bad is it, Does it go away after a while?? Please help me with these questions, because i am Really really tired of wearing glasses and contacts, and I am really considering to get Lasik.
Can someone describe their vision the first few days after LASIK surgery? I'm having LASIK this Thursday to correct a high astigmatism. The surgeon is highly recommended, educated, and I trust him completely. I know most people see dramatic results right away, but varying sources say it can take up to 6 months before your vision is stabilized. Has anyone else had this surgery and how well was your recovery time? Were you able to see better right away and go on with daily life as normal?
I want to ask about the consequenses of Lasik operation on the eyes? I have lasik'ed my eyes about a month ago, but still, my right eye sees things in double, in a way that each thing (far or near) has a slight shadow to its right side). as the distance grows, so does the distance between the thing and its shadow. Is this condition temporary or constant? why has it happened (as it wasn't like this at the beginning) and does it require special concern or treatment?
What to expect while getting Lasik Surgery? I am getting Lasik surgery on Thursday and was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect the day of surgery? I'm not worried about the results, just want to know what will happen and what I should expect to experience? Thank you!
What does the future hold for LASIK eye surgery? I'm going to school to become a commercial pilot. Obviously my career depends on being able to see 20/20 with or without correction (I'm 20/200 without contacts, slight astigmatism). I'm 30 years now but have considered eye surgery my entire life. (even RK back in the day). Obviously technology has improved by leaps and bounds. When LASIK rolled out I thought how could it get better than this? My best friend is a MD and he told me to hold off for a few years (this was 4-5 years ago) and now we have custom wavefront LASIK. I have had friends who've had both done with excellent results. Now with wavefront LASIK advancements, what else is on the horizon??? Are some stellar new techniques currently being developed that will roll out in the next 4-5 years? My eye doctor is suggesting PRK. Night vision problems could also end my career. I've heard there is less chance of reduced night vision (halos /startbursts) with PRK. The NAVY only allows PRK surgery for their pilots.
At what age should I get lasik eye surgery? I'm a student, early 20s. I've heard lots of positive feedback about Lasik, even my doctor says it changed her life. But how old should I get it--they say you should be older. How much older?
I am in the military and I am thinking about having Lasik surgery? I am thinking about having the Lasik surgery and I am just looking for some feedback from people who have already had it. I am trying to figure out what some of the setbacks or negative reactions may be to having this surgery. Any and all helpful and useful comments would be great. Thanks all and have a nice day.
What happens if you develop a haze after Lasik surgery? on my last appointment with my eye doctor, he said I had a small haze around the outer edges. I had Lasik in November. He said it wasn't something I would notice in vision and it might go away My question is: Will it go away? What causes Haze? Will it affect my vision?
Have you had a bad experience with LASIK surgery? I am quite near-sighted and have worn glasses (now contacts) since childhood. I had planned to get LASIK as soon as my Rx became stable. Recently I came across some Web sites made by LASIK "victims" who claim to have had some terrible, permanent side effects (dry eye, double vision). Anyone here had a similar experience, or know someone who has? Thanks Pedestal42, if you can give me a link to that study (or let me know who conducted and published it), that would be great.
what are some requirements to be a good candidate for lasik? my main question is the one in the title, but i do have a few others. is it possible to have a genetic problem with ur eyes where ur eyesight gets worse faster than a "normal person"? I am asking this question becuz i am 5 years younger than my brother and we both use the computer about the same number of hours a day (he might even use it more than me), but my eyesight is MUCH worse than his. wat is the recommended age to get lasik?
Why do insurance companies not pay for Lasik Eye Surgery? Seems like they want people to go through the rest of your life wearing eye glasses or contact lens. There doesn't seem to be any real cure of people with poor eye sight. Their eye sight will always get worse. Is poor eye sight a condition that is not treatable? All the eye doctor does is get a person stronger glasses over their life time. If Lasik Eye Surgery is close to a cure for poor eye sight why doesn't the insurance companies approve of it?
